Society has a curious view on human modification. Tattoos and piercings are considered safe and standard. Biomedical modification instead seems frightening and amoral. The technology to harvest tissue and organ from cultured animal, to replace bone with metal, and even to create designer genes is real. Yet they remain tagged as foreign, as science fiction. We naively hide from these ideas and brand them as a fictional future.
Future Beings Now! considers the amalgamation of the modern human and animal, rethinking the interaction between society and modern science. It explores a real-time evolution of the human race, where memories, feelings, even instincts may be carried through implants and biomodification. Rather than burdening the future with fear, the series explores beauty, art, and general strangeness in a new palette of human shape and colour. Are we prepared to celebrate our modern future, whatever form it take
