New Artist Collaboration Leon Zhan

We are always excited to introduce a new artist to our followers and collectors, especially when it is an upcoming young artist at the beginning of their artistic journey.

Leon Zhan (2000) is an Australian-Chinese artist in his final year of Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT in Melbourne. Through painting and sculpture, he explores the power and simplicity of mass cultural iconography and language. Zhan embraces the cultural and iconic visual branding, whilst often relating to and embracing his own Chinese heritage. It is the convergence of pop culture, Chinese antiquity, basketball, graphic design delivered with his highly finished, graphic pictorial art practice which makes Zhan’s work so personal, captivating and alluring.

Leon Zhan has already made an impact within the art world with works hung at GOMA in Brisbane, presented at Spring1883 (2021) with his Melbourne Gallery, Discordia, as well as making his mark with some prestigious art prizes and publications.

We are looking forward to our future together and invite you to view Leon Zhan’s work at the gallery.

Happy Lunar New Year | Year of the Tiger

“Gong Hei Fat Choy” As we welcome the Year of the Tiger, may you enjoy health, wealth, happiness and strength for the year ahead.

It is this time of year we are missing our many visits to Hong Kong and Singapore, especially being able to physically greet our friends and clients. It seems so improbable that we have been away for over two years and now we patiently wait with anticipation until we meet again in person.

Over the years our wonderful artist Zhong Chen has provided us with amusing and fabulous works to celebrate the Chinese Zodiac Animals, either painted in a traditional Chinese style on rice paper or a more contemporary style of line work on archival paper.

We have a selection of Zhong Chen’s iconic art pieces available from the stock room. Maybe you will see something that you can celebrate your Chinese birth year with.

“Gong Hei Fat Choy” and have a lovely weekend…
