The Animal Muse

Animals have been an inspiration for artistic practice from the very beginning. From early cave paintings depicting animals and daily hunting records to the contemporary and famous tiger shark submerged in formaldehyde by Damien Hirst in the 1990s. There has been taxidermy alongside great masters depicting grand and wonderful beasts and a multitude of other animal interpretations in the art world throughout the history of art.

As humans, we love the interaction with nature and animals whether it’s historical, sentimental, cultural, religious or many other reasons!! Without a doubt, it’s nearly always a personal connection that draws us to enjoy animals in art.

This week we have picked a few favourite animal art pieces for you to consider.

If you are in Noosa you’ll find us at 6/32 Hastings Street Noosa Heads. Check out THE G PROJECT 21 for daily opening times.
